Food Photography
12 years experience working with some of New Zealand’s most Reputable food magazines.
I have over 12 years experience working as a food photographer for some of New Zealand’s most reputable magazines titles and news media websites. These include Cuisine Magazine, Sunday Magazine, Nadia Journal, Life & Leisure, The Spinoff and Stuff Newspapers. I am also fortunate enough to work with some of New Zealand’s loved food brands including Aoraki Salmon, Barker’s, Egmont Honey, Marcel’s Pancakes and Green Meadow’s Beef.
Colour, texture, composition and a mastery of white space.
Having worked as an industrial designer in my previous career, I bring to my work a strong sense of composition and a mastery of white space. I love working with colour and texture in my work which can add a real sense of playfulness and a point of difference to shoots. I also enjoy playing with natural light and shadows as they introduce depth and complexity to any shoot. And if your food looks best under studio lights then I have the gear to work that way too.
Props for all scenarios.
With an extensive collection of props and backgrounds - amassed from op-shops and design stores over the years - and a keen eye for detail, I produce high-quality, engaging and authentic content for both print media and online platforms.
“Emma did an absolutely stunning photoshoot for my hospitality business. The photos were epic- so stylish and totally elevated my brand- she just got straight to it and was so professional and warm. Can't wait for the opportunity to work with Emma again and would HIGHLY recommend her”. Rose, Rose’s Deli.
I work both locally here in Taranaki as well as across New Zealand. Get in touch or book in a free discovery call if you would like to know more.
